Orthodontics is about more than simply creating straight teeth. The position and development of
the teeth, jaws, tongue, and airway are all closely connected and can influence breathing, sleep,
oral function, facial development, and long-term stability.
Our approach to airway-focused orthodontics considers the entire craniofacial system, not just
the appearance of the smile. While beautiful, healthy smiles are important, we also evaluate how
the jaws are developing, how the teeth fit together, how the tongue functions, and whether there
may be structural factors contributing to mouth breathing, crowding, poor oral posture, or airway
restriction.
Many patients are told they simply “have crooked teeth,” when in reality the crowding may be
related to inadequate jaw development or limited space within the dental arches. By looking
beyond the teeth alone, we can create treatment plans that support both function and esthetics.

Our doctors are general dentists who provide orthodontic treatment and have completed
extensive continuing education in orthodontics, airway-focused dentistry, facial development,
and dentofacial orthopedics. We are committed to staying current on modern treatment
philosophies and evidence-based approaches that support healthy growth, function, and long-
term stability.
We primarily use Invisalign clear aligners for orthodontic treatment, along with select traditional
braces cases when appropriate. Invisalign allows us to treat many orthodontic concerns with a
comfortable, esthetic, and highly customizable approach. For some patients, traditional braces
may still be the best option depending on the complexity and goals of treatment.
Depending on the patient’s age and needs, treatment may also involve expansion, oral habit
correction, myofunctional therapy, or coordination with other healthcare providers to support
healthier breathing and oral function.

Common concerns we evaluate include:

  • Crowded or crooked teeth
  • Narrow dental arches
  • Mouth breathing
  • Tongue posture issues
  • Crossbites
  • Jaw imbalance
  • Relapse after previous orthodontic treatment
  • Teeth grinding or clenching
  • Restless sleep or snoring

Our goal is to create healthy, functional, stable smiles while supporting proper jaw development,
oral function, and airway health whenever possible.
